1988 fbII 2.9 efi a4ld auto transmission 4X4 all stock.. as a daily driver when i go up hills on paved roads out of 4X4 im loosing power and no matter how much gas i give it i keep loosing speed and there is a rattling sound coming from the engine possably a bering. any one know what the problem ...

sounds like it might be your tps throtle position sensor or you have a fuel delivery problem

I have a D7 4.10 rear axel in my 88 fbII i hear that this is a rare axel to find in a BII can any one tell me just what a D7 4.10 axel is and if this is a good axel or not. i dont know too much about this topic thanks

well i isnt impossible to get out but it isnt easy to get at either .. you will need to remove the glass the arm rail the door lock hardware and anything eltse in the way. after you find a way to snake your arm in to places to unbolt the motor then it is a matter of moving the motor around to remove ...

yes it is the bottom one with the cv joint style it is prety worn and i would like to repace it with a more solid one what would you recomed..

hi again well i have an 88 fbII 4x4 at the time i have a gkn style drive shaft can i replace it with a solid u joint shaft or is the gkn style best. also what are some suspension tips on better handling ie shocks springs leafs ect for better road handling thanks

WAIT! i just re-read your post and now understand you enjoy efi. i understand now... either swap in another 2.9, or go bigger with a 4.0. you'll need the wiring harness and ecu from the donor vehicle. talk to paul on this site, he did one recently, and discovered a few things you should know. glad ...

i have a 1988 fbII 4x4 with a 2.9 efi engine i want to replace the engine with another v6 engine what other v6 engine can i drop in with out swaping out the ecu or trannie , i like the efi less problems than a carb for me but if i have to go with a carb so be it
