87 2.9 BII hard starting

Hey guys my Bronco has acted up since I got it. I have to try to start it 4 or 5 times before it will stay running. But when it does start and run after those 4 or 5 times it only runs for about 3 seconds then dies. Another 3 or 4 times of trying to start it makes it start and run fine after that. The codes I have pulled off it are codes 13 & 33 with the key on engine running and code 67 with the key on engine off. Any thoughts? I'm thinking EGR valve but would that cause my problems? I already pulled of the IAC and cleaned it along with the throttle body and the EGR valve too. I tuned it up(plugs,wires,cap,rotor,oil) a month ago and replaced the EGR valve position sensor too because that was one of my codes before. That didn't help a bit. Any help would be appreciated. sounds like it might be your tps throtle position sensor or you have a fuel delivery problem

Thanks for the reply. I should also metion that after it does start and stay running, if I push the gas very quickly all the way to the floor the motor will completly cut out until I'm off the throttle all the way. It'll do fine just giving it 1/4 or 1/2 throttle but that's about it. That and the engine idles really high to evenwhen it's all warmed up. Thanks!

did you test the iac? i had iac woes recently, and the symptoms you speak of are exact duplicate of what i was experiencing. the easy way to test your iac for any operation, is to unplug it while running. if there is absolutely no change, it's hooped. when you cleaned it, did you separate the two halves? return the rubber o-ring? oil it?

that or your tps, but i'm leaning towards iac malfunc

Yeah I did split the IAC when I cleaned it and made sure the o-ring was put back in but I didn't oil it. It worked at that point because I could unplug it and drop the idle. It doesn't do that now however. I'm gonna try pulling it back off and oiling it up some tomorrow. It is running better now though. The guy who had it before me had that idle screw screwed in quite a ways. I backed it all the way off to where it barely touches the throttle linkage at idle. Helped quite a bit. Thanks
