Re: manual 4x4 won't stay engaged??
The adjustment fixed the problem, very easy to access from below instead of through the shift boot. Thanks again! This will make winter this year a lot easier. Happy New Year!

Re: fuel delivery problems, any ideas?
Seems like I'm having a few of the same problems! My 87B2 is doing the exact same thing, drove it to work yesterday morning, (here in Pittsburgh, PA it was about 18 degrees last night), went to leave work at 5pm won't start, no fuel. You can easily hear the fuel pumps fire up and I wasn't getting ...

manual 4x4 won't stay engaged??
I have an 87 BII 5-speed with a manual transfer case shifter and manual hubs. If I pull the tcase shifter back into 4x4 position it just goes back to 2x4 when I let go. There is no "positive engagement" feel when I put it in 4x4 but if I hold it in 4x4 it will actually work. Also I cannot get it to ...

timing issue
I recently did my first engine swap on my 87b2 I replaced a tired 2.9 with a fresh 2.9 and I adjusted the timing (also my first time) and I think I have it just about right, the power feels good but once warmed up I can hear some slight slight pinging, now when using a timing light which mark on the ...

Alternator Wiring Harness Question
The connector that attaches to the top of the alternator on my 87 B2 is completely shot. The side that connects to the main wiring harness is still good. What would be the best way to replace this connector (or if easier the entire harness). I can soldier or splice in a new connector or entire cable ...

1 cyl slightly lower compression??
Did a compression check on my 87 b2 the front right cyl is 115psi tested both hot and cold same 115psi all other cyl are 150 on the dot, is this symptomatic of a blown head gasket or what?

Re: 85 2.8 difficult to start after sitting
Not sure if it's related but my 89b2 had a leaky fuel line back at the tank and would drain empty after it sat for a day or so and when I would go to start it, it would take forever to refill the line, once running it would be fine

I'd be all for it, trouble is I'm in PA :-/Ruffinit wrote:I'll sell you a '94 Explorer with everything except wheels in GOOD running condition for $800. Front axle is probably bad though.

Highbeams stuck on?
87BII For whatever reason my high beams are stuck on, clicking the switch one way or the other with the lights on or off doesn't fix the problem. Anyone know what could be going on?
Thanks,

Re: Oil pressure guage drops out
Thank you for your explanation, this makes a lot of sense, I really just try not to abuse it much but I was hoping it wasn't a sign of bad rings or something like that. On the same note, my 00' BMW M Roadster (I think most bmw's now have the same design, and more recently the newer corvette's ...
