new motor 2.9L #5 cylndr not firing, cold header

Just installed new motor. All new parts. Runs and idles, Gutless under power. Checked & found #5 header not hot. Checked spark with timing light. Swapped plugs, wires, injector, computer, distributor with known good parts, some from running cylinders on this motor. Still same issue. Plug smells dry, no gas. I can hear the injector clicking using scope. Sounds same as the rest of working ones. Driving me nuts!! I have ohmed out the injector harness. I dont have a noid light. Any ideas?? Seems if fuel presure low I would have issues on all 6.

nice B2

i had the same problem with my 88. plug was good, had spark but no fuel on #4. got a squirt bottel, put some gas in it and squirted it in the intake and the skip went away. pulled the injectors and #4 was plugged. try the squirt bottle trick

I have changed the injector with a known good one from the #4 port. I picked up noid light and we have pulse. Fuel presure maybe? Im going to pull the injector to make sure nothing left in injector hole on intake manifold. It was powder coated. I am so ready to get wheelin. I take it to the dunes for the wife to have fun with. Intake valve not opening?

if the squirt bottle dont work. take the coil wire off, turn the engine over with the key, listen to the cylinders and see if they all sound the same. if there is one that sounds different(speeds up) thats the bad cylinder.if thats the case do a compression check

Ok I inserted clear hose onto #5 intake port, did not have squit botle, put in some gas. It gets header hot when started. Only thing I have not changed is the harness for the injectors. Gonna do it now. How much fuel presure on the injector before it will squirt gas? I have a new injector I have hooked up to harness and have a gas line to it with 20 psi and no gas is coming from the output. (its in a bag so I dont catch my rig on fire when it does decide to start squrting fuel.)

held throttle body open and slid it in the right side down to the middle port and put in just enough to get a couple strokes to fire long enough to heat up the header. It got nice and warm when it just was cold before.

I just got another new injector

and it is squirting when I tested it in my bag hooked up to harness. I looked at the rest of the new injectors and they all are stuck open. I can see the pin sticking out.

Bad ground on the harnes is what Im thinking. Good thing I got spares. I picked up 2 parts cars for $400 total. One runs great and the other got used for parts. B2's dirt cheap right now due to hard times. Off to install my stuff and I will post update later. Thanks Ranger Dave! Good to have someone to bounce your problems off.

Changed the harness for the injectors and used my new injector and its WORKING

I ohmned out the cable and it still test good but fails with a load on it. I put cable in series with 1.5 ohm resistor, 3V battery and now it test open. The wierd thing is its only a 3 wire cable and #5 was the only one with a problem.
