I think boxing the arms like you said is the only way to go, some early Bronco guys used to run the extensions just as you have them and it did not always stay straight. I think a longer arm is the way to go and I like JJ's, I have had a wristed arm for many years now and I am starting to rethink them. I think these may be what I do in the future Lars bars

Another option would be to do the opposite of the EB guys. Use the guts from the 78-79 box to reverse the direction of the Bronco II box. Then mount the BII box on the outside of the frame.
looks to me the d-shaft you grenaded was a stocker - tulip style cv shit? look at this comparison in size, and tell me it's not beefier than stock. btw, the thought i was trying to convey to you was "ditch the cv style joint and go with something BEEFY like my spicer double cardan", not "look at my puny d-shaft that won't work in your situation.

the stock tulip drivshaft out of a b-2 is a joke for that matter but the double cardon shaft you posted a pic up of is useless theres not enough there . so sorry if i offended you but maybe you should have read more
