I was wondering if anyone has tried to install regular buckets in the rear of a broncoII I was thinkin about moving my fronts to the back and getting some new fronts

i have never seen this or thought about it but would love to see it once finished but not sure they will fit since you have wheel wells in the back that you would have to go between but not sure if would fit or not i would take some measurements before starting cutting

There is rumor of having factory buckets. I've never seen any pictures of it. That one guy with the tripod account no longer has them up.

But that removable window idea...........Ohh that gives me some ideas.

Me and a guy from Alaska have been talking about making canvas/poly windows that would pop inplace of the factory window then this way you could cruize around in the summer with the windows out then in the winter you just pop your glass back in.

i would love the idea of removable rear windows im thinking ablout researchin into that deeper in the spring but im not sure since mine is an 84 if its glued or screwed in if anyone else knows please tell me

I believe the 84-85's were sealed and have a metal window trim around them.

I'm not positive on the 86 model. But the 87,88,89,90 that I have owned they have all had the studs with the nuts holding them in. You will know those by the rubber like trim on the perimeter of the window.

the 86 does have the bolts, mine did anyway....

back to the buckets has anyone taken any measurements beforeto see if the front seats would even fit if so i might be making me a trip to the junkyard lol

I would suggest building a sub frame for them so that you can bolt the seats to that. Your not going to need the slider mech so you can tuck it closer to the floor.

You might want to make a rail system that when putting the seats in you can slide them in and bolt the front down like the factory seats. The back would just hook into a channel. since you may not be able to accessany rear mounts.

on my 85 and 89 b2's both had glued AND screwed windows. i had to first unbolt them, then use a hunting knife to cut the seals. I cut back the interior body panels and im going to attempt to make removable windows. that would be awesome, and less work then making it a convertible. seeing as the b2's nearly have bay windows in the back, it would be a much better substitute.

my 86 did those windows are tough too the flex pretty good before they pop out

is there some sort of hinge that could be placed on the windows and top of the truck that would allow the window to flip up and then kind of slide out so would only have latches on bottom holding window in rather than screws

if your interior is intact and you want it to stay that way I wouldn't try and hinge it. i gutted mine so i have no need for the windows. you would run into problems with the window sealing, but anything is possible.

my interior is intact now but im plannin on guttin it and going with rubber floor and gonna do something with them awefull side panels but i figured some weather stripping and some latches on the bottom of the window would hold it tight

I'm the wrong person to ask the first thing I did was chop my top off. but I think you could probably hinge it from the inside with some pins to pull or something along those lines. As long as you can see the threads on the bolts you could probably modify something but the sealing will be your biggest challenge I'm sure.
