I have an 84 BII with a 2.8L. It takes a few minutes of revving the engine before it will idle and not cut out.
I have replaced the fuel and air filters, the pcv rattles fine and it has the right amount of oil.

background info -
the vacuum coffee can is gone but the line is connected to the spot it would go after going into the can.
The carb will drip a drop of gas when releasing the thottle from a full pump, probably needs a rebuild.

Since it runs fine after it has been warmed up, I'm not suspecting the carb. What could cause this?

is your choke adjusted right?

It's an electric choke. I tried running it normally and with the throttle plate held wide open, it's the same result.

most carbs run cold natured but if tuned right it can be put to a minimum. have you tryed to tune the carb...ie check the float, adjust the needles?
