Been researching the Duraspark vs. GM HEI. All the literature I have come across states the Duraspark is a better system overall. the TFI coil is also supposed to be better, the Duraspark will go higher RPMs before it starts to breakdown.

Do you have a source? Seems I've been drawing the opposite conclusion about the GM stuff. Although, I'm not concerned with with high RPM on the EB, I want the best fuel economy.
My BII hits 5,500 from time to time and the duraspark keeps up.
well, I can say today was better. I wired the whole thing to the factory wiring and am ready to hook up the battery to see what comes on and what I need to check.
only took about an hour and a half. moved the brain box to the passenger side fender well also. that side was in kinda rough shape so I had to use the old BFH to do some adjusting so the box would sit flat. oh well, it will get replaced later anyway...... thanks for the advice on the placement. looks realy clean with minimal wiring exposed. I will try to get the wire loom on it tomarrow so I can post up some pic's.
I think I am close to firing now. basicly install fuel lines and hook up the starter wire and I should be able to crank it up.

sound's good..but wheres the pic's i have'nt see either of your rig's in awhile. man you guy's are luck i would love to have a EB. i saw one on pirate the other day nice one for like $2000.00 but it was in N.E or somewhere way on the east coast.
does'nt look like it has a motor?? i likey though, so what's the low down? what drive train in that bad boy? small lift and traction aid and that thing would be good on the trails.
it didn't when I bought it, but it does now......302/3 on the tree/D20 - D44/9"
plan to swap over my wristed arm, and use different springs I got to lift the front a couple inches. the rear has blocks and helper springs on it for some reason but the front just looks like it is factory springs.
I also have all the stuff thats on the BII to upgrade most of my factory stuff. it is going to turn out pretty cool if I can ever get it done. I got a set of 32x11.5's I am going to fit here soon.

that sound perfect..will the 32's fit under the rear finders. theres a guy i wheel with in my shop that's from Tennessee. he might be getting out soon. i would love to come down that way and wheel tellico. about how far is it from you? how far from you is St.Louis?
honestly I am not sure how far I am from either of them. I'll have to put it in google. I has talking to my friends that go and do the June trip every year and we were looking for another place to do it this comming year. when are you looking at comming down this way? I am one hour north of Nashville TN on I-65. let me know when you do come down and if it is close enough I will meet you somewhere to hang out or go wheelin......me and the family are always looking for an excuse to go somewhere.

I thought it came out pretty good for thinking about it for like 5 min.
I also have a good idea to graft the old back in to make it look flared but I don't know if I want to or not. I might just get some after market flares and be done with it.

man i dont know if i could have done it. did you keep the cut out's?i would'nt figure they would be much to put back if you ever decided to.
im not sure yet when im coming out that way yet. i do know that i need to bring my daughter out to see her grandpa. plus i have'nt seen my grandpa in like 14 years. im thinking next winter or fall...
well, that is the cool thing. right now I am planning to graft the cut out back into the fender to make it look factory

I made a decision today also......I think I am going to go full width. still back and forth but I think I am going down that road. cleaned a 79 BB full width housing and cut off the shock brackets tonight. what I am thinking is if I go full width I can have a more stable ride on and off road and I can sell the EB stuff faster then the FS stuff because more people want it. also this solves my brake problem and I now have equal length axles......meaning I can carry one shaft on the trail that will fit both sides. I am looking at the long run so I only have to do this once.
that and I think it will look killer.........

Mine hasn't changed much. Been driving it every day though. Still collecting parts for power steering and power disc brakes.
