Wiring harness

Post by Dreded »

Well I just spent 2hours ripping apart the wiring harness to see what I wanted to keep and what had to go. Here is the finished product.

But I just have one question where the harness went into the cab area there are 3 sets of wires one was the computer one is the inertia switch what is the other? its a 4 prong plug square with these wires coming from it.

1 Grey/Light Blue wire
2 Green/White
2 Orange/Yellow
1 Green/Purple

The Orange/Yellow one and Green/White one both had 1 going to computer and other going to same plug as the Fuel pump on the drivers side.

Thanx in advance

sounds like the fuel pump relay to me, but I was sure that was on the passenger side fender. Look it up in a chiltons manual. They have fairly good wiring diagrams in them.

Nope the relay is on the passenger side fender. I think if I ever do this swap a third time im gonna leave in the computer and all just so that the fuel pump relay etc is all there as it should be.

THe fuel pump relays "+" for turnigng it on is supplied via the computer relay and the ground goes to the computer so what I did this time was splice the ground right to ground and pretty much cut out everything that didnt have to do with those two relays.

The reason I did it this way was to keep the inertia switch and everything.

The connector im wondering about isn't on my '86 BII.
