Well I found out what was wrong. While we were changing the alternator, a spark plug wire came undone and was very loose. Just tightened it up and now works like a charm(: thanks for the help. Next question is how to tell if I have 4x4 or not :/

Seriously does it have two drivelines? One to the rear axle and one to the front axle? Does it have front hubs or just center caps on the front rims?

How many gear shifters does it have? Does it have any buttons mounted to the headliner above the rearview mirror? If u look under the front of the truck does it have a circle of bolts about a foot from the driver side tire? Does it have 1 or 2 driveshafts?

Would not be above the mirror, would be in the middle of the dash right above the stereo. And my '88 is a manual shift t-case, so if you have a 5-speed trans there will be be stick coming up out of floor.

Nothing in the middle just my radio and air control stuff. Mine is automatic. The only thing that is in the middle is the thing that tells me when my gas is low and when I press the brake.
