Really cool idea just wondering if it will work

I did a second 4.0 swap in my B2 and had some spare parts when I got a cool idea. I have an extra MAF and was thinking about making a dual cold air intake. Not sure how I would route it but basically it will just be two air pipes instead of one. I'm thining just splice some wires for the 2 MAF's and ...

I went through all the vacuum lines I could find and made sure they were plugged in good so I fairly sure its not a leak. I put a code puller on it and got a 41R code which the book said- HEGO Sensor voltage low/system lean- was the reading I got. The book also said that is an O2 sensor but the ...

Single Wire Alt

I was flipping through the past pages of this site and I came upon an interesting topic where someone told about converting their 302 over to a single wire alternator but I think they used a GM alt. I was wondering if i would be able to do this with a 1991 4.0. Anyone know how to do this?

Ford Tech Line?

Does Ford have a Tech line that I could call and ask questions to? I live in Iowa if that makes a difference.

I completely took the old wiring harness out of it and put in the complete 4.0 harness out of an 91 Explorer. I still have all the wires in the firewall from the old harness though. I have the large black/orange wire going to the battery side of the solenoid but the green/red wire isn't wired up ...

So what does that mean I need to do. Do I take the black/orange and the green/red wire over to the firewall like DBrown said or what? Will the ground strap from the frame to the motor change anything?

Is it possible that the main ground isn't good enough. I have the ground cable from the battery going to the engine block then to the body but nothing going from the block to the frame. Will this work?

I run 235/75/R15 on mine and they look great and do well offroad without rubbing or anything. I think it's a 29 inch? Not sure.

Alternater Problems with swap

I just did another 4.0 swap in my 85' B2 as some of you know by now. Anyway I'm having charging problems with my alternator. Whats happening is the alternator isn't putting out any voltage. I'm getting 12 volts into the alt. and exactly the same amount out. I am POSITIVE the alt. isn't bad because I ...

Another motor swap done but runs funny

I just got another 4.0 swap done on my B2 and it's running really strange. It'll start up then rev high then chug and almost die unless I touch the gas but then it revs high again then slows down and dies. I'm thinking it's either bad gas or a clogged fuel filter. Both probably need replacing. Any ...
