Nice one!
My friend recently blew the input shaft on his BII auto tranny.

I'm sure I'm very lucky that I didn't do that or worse. It had been making a racket for a while, and I kept ignoring it, until the loud rackit when I would start it. I had A feeling that's what it was. I finally tore into it after it warped bad enough that the starter wouldn't engage the flex plate anymore.
The input shaft looks to be in good condition. I guess I got to having too much fun with my 4.10 l/s and a bald set of tires.

Pool of water like at the begining of a drag strip. At home we always called it the water box. Get the tires wet, then light them up.

we call it the burnout box here........basicly lest you heat the tires up before you take off down the strip so you get better traction out of the slicks.
that sucks man, I hate transmission problems.

It was kind of fun. Bald tires hydro plane pretty quick and the old junky ones I have would smoke pretty good too. Should of taken a pict. My buddie would just look at me and shake his head

He knows I am the biggest

around here.
Oh well, it is a fairly simple fix. I got the tranny slid back enough to remove the flex plate w/o having to drop it or remove the Xfer case. Thank God for a tranny jack or I would be screwed. Those dang A4LDs are heavy for a piece of junk.

I tried a dry pavement burnout and I spit the carrier staight out the back through the main caps. That was the end of the fun with my 4:10's
