ok, I have a problem....

I was planning to use a serp/V belt setup for my 302 but because of the weather and some age is no longer good.

I would like to just go ahead and switch over to v belts all around. so, I know I am going to need a standard rotation water pump. but will I just need to get the two alt. brackets that mounts on the passenger side and new pulleys for the crank and water pump?

I plan to run power steering and a york A/C compressor later but I just want to get this thing together so I can start shaking down the other things that need attention.

There are tons of different configurations you can run. At a minimum, you need one belt for alternator, and waterpump. That's what my EB has now.

My Bronco II has one belt for the alt, one for the power steering, and one for the york.

EBSTEVE is running a serp setup on his 5.0L. He made a bracket for his york, then welded a V pulley to his PS pulley and runs the york off that using a V belt. It worked out great.

I also recommend using a saginaw pump for your power steering.

I think I'd rather run a serp belt because they save space, and they look cleaner.

in my experience serp belts are also alot stronger or atleast they tend to show visible wear long before they break. whereas v-belts dont show the wear as well.

I scored a setup from an E150 van from a friend here in town. so I will be getting the PS working here before long. I am getting realy close to a test drive.
