i have a ford ranger supercab. Would true dual exhaust with no cat's and just 2 flowmaster 40 series sound good? What about just ditching the stock muffler? or what would be the best way?

you will probably loose some performance if you dual it. I would just open the pipe a little and run a 40 series flow.

Are you going for sound or performance?
If you are going for sound, I should probably remind you that it's a V6, small one at that.
If you are going for performance, then you should know that anything you do will add very little if any power.
Either way you are throwing your money away. You'd get much more bang for your buck by swapping in a 4.0L. Just something for you think about.
I also wouldn't recommend removing the cat. The really don't restrict performance in this circumstance.
You can eat and drink all the high protien stuff you want, but unless you got to the gymn, you won't get any stronger.... your farts will just stink

its kinda pointless to do a 4.0 swap because my engine is a brand new rebuilt 2.9 and it has just as much power as my friends 4.0 ranger!!!!!

I did the 4.0L swap and it was worth it 100%.
I wouldn't open the motor to do anything. if you are going to do stuff keep it simple.....k&n air filter, nice exhaust and leave it alone. the 2.9L is a dependable motor but it is far from a screaming beast. the 4.0L has much more potential.
