Ignition lock

Post by EBSTEVE »

Ok so the BII came home last night and I have a title but no key, I have another steering column with key, but I don't want to waste the time swapping them so does anyone have experience with busting the ign cyl itself out  and replacing it with another?

If anyone is uncomfortable posting it in a public forum pleas PM me.

You didn't get any keys? How much did he pay for it?

There are only a handful of keys, I'd go to the junkyard and grab a few. Odd's are you'll find one that works.

Otherwise, you could probably drill it, then pop the new one in.

Don't screw up that colum, I might want it. Mine is getting a little loose.

if you don't want to break anything just call a locksmith. I know an ignition will only cost $10 and the lock smith will cost like $30 but if you want an easy way out that is the way to go. I had it done like 4 years ago just because I didn't want to break anything.
