i bought my 88 bronco II xlt last march and it had a faulty heater core, it was disconnected i assume because it leaked. I wasnt worried about it until it got cold which where i live it did.i bought the heater core and would like advice/instructions on installing the new one. I read some posts on this site asking about water leaking on the passenger side which i think might be relevant to mention i have. any help would be much appreciated

It is a pretty gravy job. There is a panel, inside the cab, at the bottom of the heater air box (like 6 7mm screws). Un bolt the cover and as long as the lines are off the core should slide out. Good luck!

This is a must. once you have the new heater core installed, just put the input hose on, run the engine until antifreeze come out of the core on the output side. hook up the hose and you are done.

I've never heard of having to that before

I only want to put antifreeze in just one time. I do advise retorqing the hose clamps after a weeks of running time though.
