ones a high pinion and the other is not . why is it that i find one 79 bronco with a high pinion and another one with a low pinion. they are both stock and both 1/2 to?

from the way I understood it the 79 Bronco only got the HP D44. the other front must have been swapped in for some reason.......did the LP have cast on wedges?

Yea i had the same type of question too. But mines on a 9 inch so its a little different. Whats the difference between a big bearing and a normal 9 inch? I was wondering if it had to do with the size of the pinion. My nine inch has the really big pinion, and some other ones i have seen dont... i need some answers myself

i'd have to agree with DBrown on this both my 78 and 79 i had came with d44 hp. to my knowledge the 78-79 bronco's only came in hp most likely the lp axles were swapped in. is the one your using lp or hp? what year f-150 tou pulled it from? i think early 70's models came with lp d44.
Darker than your average wheeler!!!!
I can tell you that the 68 f100 D44 I first pulled for my SAS was a HP/open knuckle/kingpin. if the axle has not been swapped and you can get pics of it still in the truck MR.N on pirate will pay you $20 for a pic of that......he has a bet going for a few years now and hasen't lost yet. I'm pretty sure that this is what he is talking about. do a search over there and see if you can find the thread......it might be worth your while.
