Bronco 2 help

my story:
bought a 89 bronco 2 from a elderly lady for 500 bucks. someone attempted to overhaul the engine n i think they didnt do it right. smokes really bad.
i dont want to attempt and try to rebuild it. a friend of mine had a 88 ranger and he gave it to me. the engine is good has 75000 miles.

Bronco 2: 2.9L, automatic, 4x4. bad engine
Ranger: 2.9L, manual trans, not 4x4. bad tranny

Questions:
is it possible to use the rangers engine into the bronco 2?
if so, how would i do this?

this is a retorical question right? sorry. dont mean to offend. swap the flywheel/flexplate. bolt it in.
