87 b2 always dies when i step on the gas

Need help figuring out why my broco dies when I give it gas.

air flilter? fuel fliter? tune up? fuel pressure? need more info.

Starts fine, it can idle, but when I accelerate it dies. Before it did this the engine would stutter and lose power, than it would die. Air filters good, fuel pumps work fine.

I would check fuel pressure but you didn't say if you gave it a tune up or fuel filter

i have seen the throttle position sensor cause that problem

use a volt meter to check voltage at the connector. at idle you should have less than 1 volt. at full throttle you should not have more than 5 volts. make sure that the voltage changes smoothly as the throttle opens. not sure which wire is which off hand. one of the wires will have constant power and one of the wires is a signal wire. you need to check the signal wire

I changed the fuel filter and its good to go now.
