I have an 88 Bronco II, 5-speed, 2.9L, 4WD.

There's an 89 Bronco II in a local junk yard that I'm thinking about stripping the wiring from and using it as a pattern for a new harness for my 88. I don't know if the junker was standard or automatic, but it does have power windows (mine doesn't).

Any comments or suggestions?

You might be better off using the 89 harness in your rig instead of building a copy harness.

Try getting all of the different color coded wire to build a harness. Then you either buy all new connectors or try and salvage the connectors. Unless you were running a rig with just the basics i.e. just ignition and start. and a carburetor it is quite a job. I have done complete re-wires and I tell you what, it is not as easy or cheap to build your own.

The upside of doing one by hand is by the time you are done you will know every electrical system in your rig completely!
