89 Bll accelerator problem

My 89 Bll has started acting like its dying when I try to accelerate. Starts up fine, and never had a problem out of it before besides losing power a little going up big hills, but never anything terrible. It runs rough at lower rpm's while moving and acts like its going to die, but no problem if I floor it. I'm not a mechanic and have very limited knowledge but I do love my Bronco and would like to get this fixed. Any ideas as to what I need to check or test I need to have run on it? Thanks for any help!

Well first thing you can do is go to your local auto parts and ask them to put a code reader on your rig and have them read the computer fail codes if there are any. if they have one ask them to check your fuel pressure.
Armed with what you learn from the codes and fuel pressure test (if done) should give you and area to start looking.
Ask yourself how long it has been since the vehicle had a tune up? When was the fuel filter last replaced?
Remember analyses first before throwing parts at it wildly. Think about the part you may want to replace. Think of how that part can affect the way the engine runs.
Last recommendation is to buy a manual tor the rig or get access to your local library. Believe it or not Chilton's has a deal to supply repair information to libraries.
My local library has online access to Chilton's for free and if you go to the library you can have access to "all-data" repair information. My personal opinion is that there is NO excuse not to have the reverent information on what ever your working on.
Good Luck and let us know what is happening.
