Stuck In 3rd 89 bronco 2
I was out of town and my uncle drove my 89 bronco 2. He says that it shot out of 1st and then stuck in 3rd. It looks like its in neutral but acts like it is in 3rd. The shifter wont move anymore than about 1/4 of an inch. Does anyone have any idea why this happened? I dont want to have to get a whole new transmission if i dont have to. PLEASE help!!!

that would be the last time i would let my uncle drive my ride. i think you have the mazda in it. to get to the top cover you pretty much have to pull the tranny. if it's the mitsubishi you just have to pull the dust boot to check the shift lever. mitsu has a pan on the bottom and the mazda don't.
