bronco2 ignition switch

Post by bronco288 »

My 88 B2 recently decided it wanted to keep running after the ignition switch was turned off. I have to choke it down with the clutch. Does this sound like the switch and how do you change it? Thanks!

The ignition switch is located on the steering column near the firewall. It is a fairly easy swap to do. Most auto parts stores have them for around $15.00
There will be 2 screws holding it on, and after you replace it, make sure that it is properly adjusted.
Have your key in the off position, and line the switch up with the rod, and bolt it down.
If you have any questions on how to line it up, you can ask your local parts dealer.
Hope this helps ya.
