hard start

Post by pelliott828 »

i had my 89 bronco ii running pretty good for a little while but now it starts up fine when its cold but after i run it and shut it off and let it sit for an half hour or so i have to crank and crank and crank it before it starts and after it starts it smells real rich. and under no load you can hear it miss and low rpms you can feel the miss but its fine at highway speeds

Mine did the same thing, and I changed the spark plugs. Sounds weird, but after changing them, mine runs so much better.
Mine was fine at hiway speeds, but around town, it was horrible.
The rough idle is most likely caused by a vacuum leak. Mine will run rough after I drive it for 15 miles to work, and I can hear a leak, but haven't been able to find it.
