there is a connector (spout) on the right side on upper intake that you have to unhook to set the timming. clem got a good idea. hows the cap and rotor?
well checked timing with that off. it was a little off.so got it running better still something tho bt it wont hold a charge at all.. itll charge and be ok...but if i out turn signal on it drains battery instantly.??
You may want to have the battery load tested. if it is weak I have seen where a computer (like in a bII) wont function correcty. I have also seen these batterys take and hold a charge until called upon. if you are confident in your alternator(that can be tested too) I would look hard at your battery. I have also seen alot of problems with fords in general with the battery cables being bad or having a bad connection goin to ground
Battery testing can be done free at like Napa, or Auto Zone or Advanced Auto.... same with an alternator except you have to remove the alternator ahead of time....
I swaped out the computer and it runs good now. but im having lots electrical problems now. heater wont work and turn signals wont work while engine is running,
i agree with Strokin76. When batteries are strong enough to start, but too weak to handle the load, weird things tend to happen when a load is put on the battery. Same with motorcycles....stuff like that usually turns out to be something wrong with the charging system. In motorcycles, it's 3 parts...not sure about these trucks. Battery/alternator maybe.
