86 Ford Bronco II 2.9L EFI
the water wasnt too deep up to the bottom of my door. I went through the large puddle twice with no problems. My gas is good and pressurized. Fuel pumps turn on Battery is good starter isnt turning the motor over. Its clicks but no turn not sure if im getting a spark yet. My intake tube was wet on the inside but mostly dry my intake filter was soaked though. My buddies and I Imediatly got out and pushed it out of the water. Can you flood your starter. Not sure where to start. Gotta get her all the way home first. I havnt checked my oil but like I said the intake tube was wet on the inside but mostly dry. any advice on to get this thing runnin would hate to throw it away. Guess a new motor is the worst case scenario. PLease Help!!

if its a std put it in gear and push it and see if it will turn over, pull all the spark plugs out first

A new motor is only 650 bucks I already have a rebuilt tranny so I would virtually have a new truck. Water did get in my motor the oil level went up about 1 quart so that what I have in my motor.

Hydro-locked!!!
Ouch. Sounds like what happened is when you air filter got saturated with water your engine sucked it in and as we all know water does not compress. When this happens it usually does something ugly inside the engine like bend rods and hammer cranks.
Pull all your spark plugs then drain and refill the engine with clean oil. Try to turn the engine with the plugs out. You might get lucky. if it turns over dry everything install fresh plugs and go for it. If it doesn't turn over, Play a tune of Taps on your bugle and stuff another engine in.

To Fix. Or. Replace or not. it all depends on what you are seeking and what your budget can handle.
Happy with the fuel mileage and current power then just stuff another 2.9 in. Want more power stuff a 4.0 in. If ya got to have lots of power then go V8. It's all up to you.

My motor will not turn over at all. Ive tried with the starter and ive tried by turning the camshaft pully with a socket. It is frozen so to speak.
