my 84 bronco2 has a 4sp manual trans. i think my trans is goin out because in first it sounds like broken gears grinding together. in second its ok just sounds like its rapping out. in third it grinds like first and fourth it grinds like first. do i need a new transmission?

if i need a new one i want to put a v8 in my b2. probably a 302 from an early 90's f150. should i just go buy that f150 and swap out everything or what should i do. this is my favorite vehicle in a while and i need more power and a new trans.

please any ideas?
