I was looking at a full length add a leaf to give arount 2.5" of lift. has anyone tried these before? I am under the understanding that they would still let the rear flex. I am looking to give enough lift to match the 3.5" lift that the duff springs will give. I have gained a little lift with the hanger flip in the back. so I think 2.5 will do it.

I ran the long aal on my 89 and 84. I was running the leveling coils and front spring spacers (aprox. 1") on the front. The rear was higer than my front when empty. When I loaded it down for a trip to utah or colorado it set level. I liked the ride. I have them out back in a spring pack. I could send them to you for the shipping charges if you want them. I'm pretty sure I'm going with the skyjacker FR36's on my 88.

The short aal is stiffer and won't sag as quickly. Like I said the long one will ride nicer. Thing is with the long aad is you have to cut or straighten your stock thick bend clips to get it in the spring pack. I'm not sure but it might not be required on the short aal.

sorry I have a few questions.....
are they the 2.5" lift leaf?
are the add a leafs you have 3" wide?
and will they work for a 79 bronco leaf pack?
also my zip is 42101 do you know how much shiping will be?

if they will work I'll take em. like I said my main concern is that they will level me out for a 3.5" duff coil and still flex.

I wouldn't count on 3.5" of lift from the EB springs.

For the rear, I would build new "lower" shackle hangers before running an add-a-leaf.

No. These spring packs are from an 89 BII. 2.75" wide. The aal is a Superlift #2180. The correct part # for the 79 is a Superlift # 2140.

well I guess I will have to just figure something out then.
why should I not count on 3.5" of lift?

because you're putting an early bronco spring in a fullsize bronco suspension. If the fullsize uses a longer spring, you may not gain any lift. I don't know.

I kinda thought thats what you ment....I plan on running a EFI 302 do you think they will hold up ok and flex well?

I think they will hold up and flex fine. But you need to figure out if they will be long enough for your needs. Worst case, you could probably move your coil buckets up or down.

that measurement will help, but do you have a measurement of the height once they are installed?

I think if I measure what I have now and then compair to what you have I might be able to get close to the expected amount of lift.

DB how much lift you looking for? i think that the fullsize coil's you have on there now are 16" no load. the 4" skyjacker coil's i had under my b2 were about 19" no load. i think nobody said the duff's are 21" no load. if your gonna run a 302 i dont imagine you would lose much of the lift compared to a 302 b2 on b2 frame. the reason i worry is becuz im running 351C. even though it's only about 75lbs more than a 302. im going with the wildhorse 5.5 so i can run 38's and have enough lift for the weight of a winch. good luck

I was after about 3"-3.5". I put on a pair of 35's in the rear with no lift and the top of the back bed is at my sholders, I am 6'2" so I am not wanting to go much taller. but I do want to suspension to flex well.
