My brother's car did that. Is it an automatic? You might just have to replace the transmission fluid and filter. That's the simple solution. Try that first and see what happens. Also when I changed the fluid in my rig, it was still slipping, if that also happens, Lucas makes a product called "transmission stop slip" works immedatly. You might still have to put some more fluid in it though. Let me know what happens....

The bronco ll is a 1986 4x4 2.9 V6, has a roll-over switch. When you drive it, it runs fine, the problem is once you get to where you're going and the engine is warmed up and shut it off, let say you go the the store. When you come back out and try to start it, it will crank but it won't start. If you let it sit (Like over night) or until it cools off. Then it will start then.

I just had a new tranny put in and this was a problem prior to the tranny R/R.

Hope this information can help in resolving the problem..Thanks

I was actually reading up on the first interia switch, I think it might be like that roll-over switch your talking about. This switch will activate if the vehicle is in a collsion. It shuts off the flow of fuel to the engine. If it will start and run for a little bit I doubt its this switch. But you may have to reset the switch. I think its located on the right (passenger) side right next to the tranny hump. My rig the switch went bad and had to be replaced before I even got the truck. I don't know if thats your problem though.

Knowing that it cranks over and not just clicks is good. My first thought would be to check for spark after it gets hot, maybe the coil is going bad, this is easy to do. My other thought is fuel, when it dies listen for the tank pump when you turn the key to the on position. Providing that nobody frigged with the fuel lines it should not be vapor lock, but take a look to see if a line is near an exhaust tube.

Joeyy... you hit it right on the head, it was the interia switch. Thanks. I'm selling the Bronco II for my son. (moved out of state) and I wouldn't want to sell it if it wasn't dependable.

Well good, glad I could help. I read your for sale ad there, if I had the money I would actually think about buying it too. I want to start collecting these BII's. But I don't have the money, oh well.
