I am surprises nobody answered this question it is easy. Look on the front of the front axle, attatched to one of the bolts will be a metal tag, that will look like this.
In my opinion, if you are going to do a swap you should do the D35 and 8.8 swap from 91-94 explorer, the front is a bolt on swap and the rear is not hard at all.

Wow I must have missed this post. Most likely the GMC jimmy (small SUV) has an IFS system of its own that you would want to stay away from and thats not even taking into account that I thought that its passenger drop anyway.
As stated, the Exploder axles are the easiest to swap in and very plentiful.

I agree with a couple posts up... go for the D35 and 8.8" swap... very simple swap!

Reading old post here to get information. What does the D35 and 8.8 swap gain you?

The Dana 35 is basically an explorer axle. It is slightly wider than a stock Dana 28 that is in the B2. The added strength of axles and gears makes the Dana 28 look like a Tonka axle. The Dana 35 swap is a almost bolt in operation. I say almost because "There is always a problem of 1 sort or another when upgrading" but not insurmountable! just depends how careful in the planning you are!
The 8.8 rear is also wider than a Dana 28 rear and about as strong as they come short of being a 9 in
ford. I believe the difference in length is only a couple of inches so nothing serious swapping. If your looking for a posi 8.8 I mean trac loc look for 91 thru 94 explorers in your bone yard. I got a 8.8 trac lock 3.73 gears for my hot rod for less than $100.00 when I was looking. You can also get lucky and possibly find one with disk brakes to boot.

LOL old post, but he meant the 7.5" rear. The 8.8" is much stronger than the 7.5". Although I have to say, I had a 7.5 the whole time I wheeled my B2 with a Detroit locker and never had any problems.
