tranny help?

well i just put my a4ld tranny back onto the truck and i did not remember to buy and install a new bellhouseing gasket. and i think it had brought the tranny closer to the engine and my converter is closer and the flywheels attaching nuts didnt tighten. do you think i can just put washers on the flywheel nuts and call it good or is it going to screw up everything else like length. thanks

when you put the tranny in,did you put the converter in the tranny first and made sure its all the way in the pump??

yeah i had a bellhouse gasket. and yes i made sure the conveter was pushed all the way in before i put the tranny in.i was wondering which of the cooling line ports on the tranny was the output Top or bottom. and where do i hook the vacuum diaphram hose up to?

yeah that is what i mean. i thought that was what it was called. and which of the tranny cooler ports are the out put and in put.
today i got it started and i reved it up to like 4 ,000 and it made a funny noise and there was also a little bit of smoke comeing out from under it. i didnt put it in gear or any thing and it was smokeing

i finnanly got my tranny in and it works fine. it took nine quarts of dex merc automatic tansmission fluid. i just need to put the driveshaft on correctly and it should be ready to go.
