A Few Questions about my BII

Hi All...
I want to change the shocks in my BII to the most comfortable ride I can get. I don't do any offroading with it, and mostly use it for local work, running around and that sort of thing. Every once in a while, I take a nice long trip with it. The truck's got 150K, I've replaced the shocks before with some NAPA shocks, and while they were ok, they were never great. I plan to take it on a 7K drive soon, and want to do this stuff before I go...
What's the most comfortable shocks I can get for both front and back.
Also, what's the general life of the "spring" in the leaf springs in the back??? Should I be thinking about replacing them too???
The car's in great shape, interior and exterior, although I have an issue with the transfer case... it won't stay in 4WD high and keeps bouncing back to normal. A Ford guy told me there was a detent ball in the transfer case that holds the shift mechanism. I don't want to dismantle it all... is there anything I can drip or spray in there that would make the ball pop to life???
One more thing... I have a leaky front seal and want to replace it. How tough is it to get the crankshaft pulley off and on. I know on my BMW, it's a pain. Everything else looks pretty straightforward.
Thanks in advance!
