questions about 4.0 swap??

hello i am helping my friend do a 4.0l swap in his 88 bronco 2. the motor came out of a 2003 rander that had an automatic trans... will the 88 bronco 5 speed mate up to the 4.0l? will i have to change anything on the harness or ecu since i am going from an auto to manual? any information about the swap would be greatly appreciated.
