Need Quick Axle help!!!!!!

I have a 9" under my BII that I was told came from a '74 Early Bronco. It was sold to the guy I got it from as having 31-spline axles. So, thinking this is what I had, I order up a 31-spline Detroit Locker for it. It is now on jack stands taking up half of a friends garage because it had 28-spline axles in it after all. I didn't take the time to pull the axles all the way from the tube and check the splines before dropping the chunk and had it all apart before realizing the discrepency. He has agreed to let me leave it there for a few days so I don't have to do the job twice and I need a set of 31-spline axles for a 9" Ford rear end ASAP. My measurements are from outside of flange to tip of axle using a carpenters tape. Any suggestions on where to look for an economical set would be much appreciated. I took a peek at Curries but don't want to pay $400 for a set if I can help it.

Driver - 27 5/16
Passenger - 29 13/16

I'm looking for a cheaper aftermarket set, but according to my research, Ford did make some EB's with the 31-spline axles from 1975.5-1977.

Well this and a few other references I have seen around lead me believe that there were SOME EB's with 31-spline axles from factory, although they do appear to have been a rarity.

Looks like I'm late, but EB's never came with factory 31 spline. Furthermore, there was a Big Bearing and a Small Bearing housing. The axles you need to order depend on the housing. You can identify big bearing housings by the step up in diameter an inch or two before the backing plate.

This is a Big Bearing housing

Curious what makes you so certain. I have seen sites that say there were and some that say there were not 31-spline EB's from Ford. The places that say they exist all say they were late production...and only some of those. I did find it interesting that when I had Auto Zone check ALL years of EB's looking for 31-spline axles that they list 28-splines from 1966-1975 and for 1976+77 (the years the were supposedly made), they do not list ANY axles. It made me wonder if it were perhaps because there were more than one option for those years.

Won't be able to install before Saturday, but the axles were delivered today. Since the page didn't list a manufacturer, I was expecting brown box axles with no name brand. They are Yukon axles. :-)

Yes they are for the big axle bearing. My 9" has 11" drums, 2 1/4 brake shoes, and the lengths are correct. Looks like they are going to work, but I won't know for sure until tomorrow. I was just a little shocked that they are Yukons for $258.98 delivered, AND included new retainer plates, seals, axle bearings, and grade 8 wheel studs.
