Have heard that injectors from a 5.0 will help out a 2.9. Has anyone tried or knows of anyone that has success with this procedure.
Thanks

im not sure if the electrical fittings are the same, but if your gonna use 5.0 injectors id look for 5.0 explorer injectors they have a 4 hole pintle cap for better fuel atomization. im running explorer injectors in place of my stock 5.0 stang injectors

Thanks guys and or girls; I found on THErangerstation an article on using the injectors from either a 4.6 or 5.0. I do like the info on using the exporer injectors
7. 19lb injectors ($50 used). Side note, 19lb injectors will be good about 200-240hp peak. You can use 19lb (gold or orange) injectors from either a 5.0L or a 4.6L -- they are both high impedance injectors like the 2.9L stock ones.

With the TB work with K&N cold intake, and ignition work, running Flomaster, I should be approaching 200 and I will be mostly original 89 XLT

I am with you Dave! Gonna take a lot more than some injectors plastic pipe, and open mufflers to wring 200 hp out of a 2.9.
Hey there "rd4man" If you can get near 200 hp just doing that I will buy you an hour of dyno time and come there to see it!
I am not trying to make fun of you but I am trying to save you some possible embarrassment. I have been a wrench for many years and built many motors and I guarantee you won't get 200 hp doing only what you said.
Now that all said it sounds like you have the makings for a good running 2.9 that will be more efficient if it is Not over injected, and changed radically from stock.

if you want 200 at the wheels, best throw warmed up 302 in it.
check this out. i dont think a 2.9 is gonna come close to this. look at the HP and torque and whats been done to the engine

When Ranger Dave made his intial statement "Be Putting out 200" I thought he was telling me what I would be putting out, I didn't have a clue what the HP of a 2.9 was until you boys and girls started telling me how stupid I was. I was just looking for some information>
