Okay, we've passed chilly and now it's c-c-cold

Well, we broke some records here this morning. -25 not counting windchill. All I've got to say is that this 2.8 carburated engine is making a believer out of me. It fired right off this morning and got me through the snow, the icy highways and down the interstate to work (70 miles) and didn't even sputter. It sits outside on the windward side of the garage.

I've been preaching that the best thing you can do with these 2150 carbs is to follow the tuneup guide in the Chilton or Haynes manual to the T, and then do it again taking your time. Set the timing properly and you'll have no issues. Well it proves itself time and again. I can tell you that there were plenty of newer vehicles this morning that didn't start and run.

I bought this BII expecting to change out the drivetrain with my '94 Exp 4.0L. Because of many issues it didn't happen this last summer or the fall before. I still expect to do it, but let me tell you, I'd rather have a reliable anemic engine that starts than one great hotrod that don't. :usa:
