problems while coming to a full stop

Post by firemat »

when I come to a full stop..anywheres...my 89 bronco II gives one big jerk that I feel in the brake pedal...and will only do this when I stop...it makes my brake pedal jump up from under my foot once and then comes back to normal...I`m thinking it could be bushings or something that is done on the front end of the truck...if it was the brakes..wouldnt it do it more then just a second before I come to the full stop

It sounds like a radius arm bushings to me, I would get this checked out A.S.A.P! I would also make sure the U-bolts on the back axle are tight. Sometimes my chevy truck feels like it just got bumped in back because of axle wrap, but this sounds bigger than that. Get this looked at now before something bad happens.

I`m also thinking its the radius arm bushings...cause if it would be the brakes it would be doing it more then just once when I come to a full stop...and also its in the pedal I can feel and hear it...so its probly not the rear...but I`ll check ....I am not driving it right now..but I need it very very soon..so I am going to go ahead and check it out as soon as it stops raining .
