I am getting a full size bronco for free (mid 80s, not sure exact yr yet) but it runs just needs a new transfer case. I have had a B2 layin around for a few yrs and have always had plans to build it into a 4x4 beast just haven't gotten around to it. I know that the 302 can be swapped but what about the trans(automatic) and case? I would also like to swap in the full size axles as well. How difficult will that be? And how much Money do you think I am looking at spending? I have a shop available to me and will be doing all of the work (with the help of a few friends) If any of you have any advise I would appreciate it.

engine trans and transfer case will work, t case you are best trying to find a np 205 if you are going to change it anyhow. the rear axle is a fairly easy swap. the front axle will work but ALLOT of fabrication and exact geometry is needed. it is ttb or also called ifs independent front suspension, and it is difficult to work with, expensive for lift kits, and the shaft break allot from lift angles. back to the engine, is it carb or efi. if it is efi it will be too tall with the stock intake unless you run a 3" body lift. bcbroncos.com sells a adapter plate to put a mustang upper intake on a truck for efi but easiet would be put a carb on it. with a complete truck as a donor , you doing the work, and you have the ability to fabricate parts, the engine trans swap should cost about $500-$1000. most of the expense is headers, exhaust, drive shafts, radiator. find a way to save on these items and your swap will be a lot cheaper.
the axle- rear- you just ahve to move the shock and spring mounts on the axle housing to line up with the bii locations. front axle- can't help ya there on a ttb

thank you, I still do not know what year it is, but i will be picking it up 2moro. I will look for the np 205 for the swap. And the enging is carburated. I have done some other research on the engine swap and am glad to hear that the trans and Tcase will all fit under the B2. Any suggestions on a a different front axle( solid not IFS)?

A solid axle out of a '78 or '79 F150 or bronco would be a good swap. most were dana 44, some were dana 60. the 44's were high pinion, I don't know if the 60's were or not. But the high pinion is the way to go if you are going full width. good luck.

im with the canuck

, 78-79 bronco dana 44 is the way to go. some other trucks you may find what your looking for are-
68-79 f-150's, full size rangers, f100's
6?- 29 f250's (highboys) you will get either a dana 60 or a dana 44 HD- a 44hd is nothing more than a standard dana 44 with 3/4 tom knuckles and brakes making it 8 lug.
99 up 3/4 ton f-250's have a staight axle dana 60
happy hunting and good luck !
