Front crankshaft oil seal

So this weekend I changed the harmonic balancer on my 2.8L and the oil seal around the balancer started leaking after that. I read up on how to change it and autozone says I have to pull the oil pan which I don't want to do if I'm going to disconnect everything I may as well pull the motor so I'm not on my back doing all this and I dont want to do that unless I'm going to rebuild or replace the motor. Any tips on this would be much appreciated. I've also found a lucas oil product with stop leak which I might try just to get me through until I'm at a point where I can pull the motor and just rebuild the thing it needs it anyway it burns a little oil and i really have no idea how many miles are on it since I pulled it out of a Mustang and all I cared about was that it was running as it was a free motor. I just don't have the money right now to rebuild it does any body know if this lucas stuff works well or not.
