leaf setup?

ok, this is not a BII specific question but I feel like this could help some people when setting up there leafs in the rear.

I am relocating the leafs on my latest project and where I want them the frame is not completely parallel.
as in the frame looks like this "/ \" instead of this "I I" there is a ~2.5" difference from the front hangers to the back hangers.

so my big question is how much do y'all think this is going to matter?

I was thinking to space them out in the smaller section but I don't know how that will work out. any ideas?

You can use something to compensate the 2.5" for each leaf spring. Mabey have something like this http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... toview=sku to replace the stock shackles, but instead of having them curve out, put them on the wrong side and have them curving in toward each other.

well after thinking about it I think I came up with 2 different options. I am basicly using 4 front hangers for a 4x4 f100 meaning the 3" wide leafs and the lower hanging front brackets from 2 different trucks.

1. I am thinking to fab a bracket to over lap the frame and mount the front hanger to that

2. just weld some spacers onto the frame and drill threw everything.

I don't realy like the way those look for a long term fix. it looks like they would just fold over if you slamed the leafs down on something.

I guess I am realy wondering if the leafs are a little off as far as being parallel to each other how will it affect flex and driveability

jJust invisioning it, I think the flex will be limited if the leafs arent parallel to one another. If I were going to put them on anyway, I would atleast fab something so they wouldnt be 2.5" off. a Little less would be better I suppose.

It seems like stevenf is right you would lose some flex along with wearing out your leaf bushings alot quicker than normal. Plus how well do you think it would track down the road?
