I was wondering if anyone has used a D30 on a B2? What all would be involved with this swap?

I generally have to recommend against it. I say 44 or nothing.
I assume you're talking about a cherokee Dana 30. One of the biggest benefits of a ford Dana 44 is they are setup with factory radius arms, which you can easily modify for gobs of flex. Also tons of aftermarket support.
A jeep 30 has all the jeep brackets and crap that have to come off, and you're looking at a leaf spring suspension or welding on 44 wedges, which probably wouldn't fit right. Then you don't get lockouts, so your front end is spinning 100% of the time which isn't good. Many also are plagued with the axle disonnect. Your options for steering linkage are also limited.
I really don't see any reason to run a 30. I wouldn't do it even if it were free. But, I have seen some guys do it.

You could use a dana 30 out of a YJ and use the leafs. But a Dana 44 would of course be stronger. If you wanted to go extreme you could also use a pair of Dana 60's from a 78 or 79 F350 and also run the leafs. The frame with between the BII and the YJ and 78/79 F350's are close enough (or so i am told)!

maybe the YJ but you can rule out the 78/79 F350. I am doing the 79 Bronco frame swap and alote has to be altered.
