Who knows about BII rear driveshafts.

I know the common fix is to replace it with a standard u joint style shaft but my finances will not currently allow for a $300 dent. Does anyone know about a c.v. repair kit. I anyone has a good drive shaft laying around PLEASE contact me at
godzilla9992@bellsouth.net. Like i said I'm nearly broke right now. Any replies much appreciated.

Lmc truck offers a rebuild kit for that axle. It runs about 30$

yea a repair kit runs about $40 or so.. can find one at any drive-line shop

You can build your own driveshaft if you have a a4ld, fm146, or m5od tranny.. once you figure out if its the right tranny then you just get these supplies:
1) front driveshaft off of a 91-94 explorer
2) two (2) front plates off the rear driveshaft of the same years of explorer (part that bolts to t-case)
then take the large knuckle thing off the front d-shaft and do some grinding to get that pin off, put plates on each end and wa la!

depending on j-yard prices... about $50 i bought new u-joints and paid $35 for d-shaft, $24 for u-joints, and $5 for the front plates... so thats roughly $65 for a new d-shaft with u-joints

that's kinda the same thing only you change the plate on the t-case? couldn't really tell how to build it from that write up... the one i used was a little more complete and a little easier.. but same outcome so whatever works right?

you seem to have all the same issues i did when i bought my bronco. i went thru 3 stock used driveshafts from the junkyard, all of wich were dead already. so then i decided id make my own. i went and bought a rear driveshaft out of a ford mark XII. it had the same bolt pattern on the rear end.
i hacked that up and designed my own working driveshaft.... only problem was it was U-joints not CV joints so it had no play so when the suspension compressed it went CLUNK!... i knew this was going to happen but i built it anyways.....
bottom line i ended up getting really lucky and found an aftermarket one with u-joints and a long travel spline gear setup in the center at a junkyard for $100.
