302 conversion

I just got a C4 out of a 1977 ford mustang,i got the starter,flywheel/ring gear will it bolt right up to my 89 302 or do i need to change something.

It will bolt up, however the flexplate has the wrong imbalance for the newer engine. In ~1981 the 302 changed from 28oz imbalance to 50oz imbalance. You must get a new flexplate or have yours rebalanced. In addition, I believe there are at least two different torque converter bolt patterns, so you need to do your homework on which flexplate to get.

just found out a have a 141 tooth 28 oz flexplate, should I change it to a 157 50 oz , and do i need to get a new starter a torque too

I didn't know there was a 141 tooth flywheel. The flywheel size and bellhousing have to match. You can't change the bellhousing on all C4's. I think the starters are pretty universal. The biggest difference is the offset of the bendix gear between auto and manual starters.
