Alright I thought the 4.0 ac pump was no good for an onboard air system but some guys are using them on the explorer forum with success my question is what should I do
I can't fit a york in the stock place so it is either the stocker or an electric like a viar 480c what kinda fill speeds can I expect with the stocker and the viar on my 34x10.50's any other options would be nice too. by the way these pumps would still hook to my tanks which equal about 4 gallons. would I be better off just hooking the pump straight to the tire what is gonna give me a quicker fill time

I have used several A/C pumps for on-board air. They all worked well. If they burn up get a new one. I now have a york, and it's nothing special. So go for it. I think I'd probably try to keep your tank around 2 gal. That way it will charge up to full pressure faster. Fill times depend on engine RPM, but at idle is should be a minute or less per tire. If you add in the ability to bump the idle to 1500rpm or so, even better!

Don't waste your time with any electric pumps, they all suck. I would use the factory pump you have, even if it sucks it will be enough to make you happy if you are considering electric.
