Kid was driving his truck, and broke the driveshaft. Wasn't wheeling or anything, just driving down the road. Problem is, I am not going to have alot of time to fix it, and the truck is some distance away, so I have to take with me what i think i need to fix it sight unseen. He has no idea what he is looking at, nor can he describe it to me in any fashion that makes sense. All he can tell me is that "the pipe thing that goes around is hanging down". From what i gather, some of these trucks have CV type axles, and some don't. I am hoping it's a u-joint type, but I am not sure, since I only have been under the truck once and can't recall.

I was able to take a look at it..it has 2 u-joints at the transfer case side, one u-joint at the diff side. Looked like a slip joint into the transfer case at first, but when i looked closer, it seemed to be some kind of flange, and it has a rubber boot on the middle of the driveshaft where the driveshaft itself telescopes.

The rear driveshaft flange was broken where it held the u-joint bearing cup. I found another one in the junkyard.
