well with 6" of suspension and 3 inch body you could probably run 36" tire or bigger but the odds of those axles holding up to that tire are slim to none. you do not have to do an extreme build to get these trucks to perform well

When I started my off roading i used explorer coils and leafs with 2" coil spacers and got about 2.5 inches of lift and with a little bit of trimming i was able to run 32x11.50 and it did well you could also upgrade axles with the D35 and 8.8 from an explorer these are stonger axles and wider also and the 8.8 usually comes with a factory limited slip rear end which perfoms much better than an open diff. just start small and learn the vehicle and work your way up to the big stuff and no a winch is not necessary if you wheel with others that have winches and by the way never wheel alone in my opinion 3 rigs minimum

the way I did it it was a direct bolt in
the axle is direct bolt in period. but the drivesahft is a different story if you wanna run the tcase that you already have I think you have to shorten the front driveshaft. instead of shortening the shaft I swapped my b2 tcase out for the explorer tcase and then the front shaft from the explorer will work fine but then the rear shaft is an issue and what I did was buy the double cardan driveshaft from the rear of an 86 b2 i think and swapped out the flange that bolts to the 8.8

so either way in gonna be foolin with a driveshat issue which isnt a big deal i think ill jus keep my tcase and get the front dshaft shortend

the explorer tcase is stronger if I were you I would just look for a wrecked explorer and get all the parts then you have a bigger and stronger front and rear axle and while you are at it you could go ahead with a 4.0 swap

idnt think i go into the engine swap cuz it is gonna be a daily for my bro and fiance so and the bothe dont work so the got to be able to affford the gas and plus it wont be in the mud too often only wen i feel lik goin out the local swimmin hole! lol but i appreciate it all and how hard is ti to change the tcase?
