i've noticed alot of people talking about wristed arms and i guess this might be a dumb question but WTF is a wristed arm

The ford straight axles that use radius arms are basically one big sway bar. If you cut an hinge one of the radius arms, it eliminates the bind and lets the front end flex. Then when back on the road, you can pin the arm for more stability.
Works very well. People spend a lot of money on custom linked suspensions. A wristed arm costs about $30.

ok i'm really trying to figure this out, what are these radius arms on, what do i get them off of, and i would like to see some pics of how their mounted, if anyone has any pics of how and where they mount and how they work i would appreciate it, i think i understand but i'm not completely sure

basicly there is one on each side of the axle. in the picture above the "C" end bolts to the axle and the threaded end bolts to the radius arm bracket. there is then a track bar or "pan hard" bar the controls the axle from going to the left or right. it is a realy simple system that is easy to modify.
this is calld the factory ford 3 link found in early broncos 66-77 and ford pickups from the mid 60's to the late 70's also in 78-79 broncos. the 3 link was also in some 4wd vans around the same period...I have only seen 2 but they do exist.

do you mount it to the axle with a u-bolt or what

no, there is a "c" cap thet bolts to the front and you have bushings. on the housing there are wedges weded to the housing. you can buy the wedges from james duff to weld to your housing, then just either buy a set of aftermarket arms or find a set of used ones.
