Alternator Ground

This is a quick and maybe stupid question. How does the alternator get grounded. I just cant figure out why my alt wont charge so this is about the only thing i can think of.

isn't it case-grounded? the whole outside of the alternaator should be grounded to the mount. i had this happen to a buddy, took off the alt and found corrosion all over the mounts, cleaned em up with a wire brush and presto. alternatively, you can take a heavy guage wire and ground it to one of the bolts attaching the alt to the bracket.

I HAD A FUSE BLOW NO MY '89 AND MY ALTERNATOR WOULD NOT CHARGE.
