Cruise Control question

Brand new to the forum. The cruise on my 86 B2 2.9l quit working. I have checked the fuse, connections under the hood as well as the vacuum lines. Everything seems fine. My manual does not show specific wiring diagram for this. Any ideas as to where to start looking now would be appreciated. Thanks.

Good place to start. I do know that there are some loose wires under there, and there is a switch that I think is for an electric trailer brake. I have identified some of those wires as being cut out from somewhere else. Makes sense that it would be the cruise control. Spring is coming and I will spend some time playing with it in the next few weeks. Thanks for the hint.

Exactly where the name says: Highland County (Population 2,385). Just get on US 250 and go west till you can't go any further and still be in VA! Great place for Broncos as general transportation, especially this morning: hard crusty snow. Only had to run my plow once yesterday (the one on the F-150). More coming over the weekend, though.

Ford uses a Clock Spring in alot of vehicles. I know most of my friends and my cars have no had cruise control that worked due to the clock spring going out. It's very common.

I knew it! That's what the big wind-up key was for! Thought it was just a leftover from a Jimmy, and threw it away.
