radius arm brackets

when i lift my bii the front drive shaft hits the cross member under it. its the cross member the radius arms are connected with. how do i stop this, and can i cut it out?
(If I remember right, it unbolts). With your lift you should have gotten a set of radius arm drop brackets. these will lower the cross member between them, if I remeber correctly.
